EPIC takes an intensive approach to learning playwriting, focused on a deep learning experience to hone playwriting skills.

According to Ingenuity’s State of the Arts report, “The majority of in-school-time partner programs are one-time field trips or performances that . . . signal little consistent or ongoing student access to partner programs.”  They go on to state that the “in-classroom residency provides a deep arts learning opportunity, yet less than a third of all schools have an in-class residency.”

With EPIC, Silk Road Rising brings a depth of instruction rare in public school arts programming.  Rather than engage students in an easily-forgotten, one-off arts event, we spend 20 sessions in the classroom, providing a deep and fulfilling learning experience that remains with students long after the course has come to an end.
